Member Zoom: NHS Mental Health Implementation Plan

This will be the first in a series of member meetings relating to the Long Term Plan. This session will focus on opportunities for YIACS to influence local planning and engagement with systems partners.

During the consultation on the NHS Long Term Plan and for years beforehand, Youth Access and our members consistently championed the needs of young adults, who have for too long faced the biggest treatment gap and poor experiences of transitioning from children’s to adults’ services.

Now, our efforts are paying off - not only in making sure the needs of young people front and centre in plans for improving the mental health system, but also in carving out a significant opportunity for Youth Access members to play an even more important role in improving young people’s access to mental health support. We need to act now to ensure that this opportunity is met and that our network can influence the next stages of the Long Term Plan.
